Craig W. '73 & Linda Labnon Rydin '71 Scholarship Fund

PURPOSE: Need-based scholarship support to students who reside in Berlin, NH. If there are no students from Berlin who qualify for the scholarship in a given year, second preference shall be given to needy students who reside in towns near Berlin, New Hampshire in Coos County. ADMIN: Scholarship recipients will cease in 2036 while existing scholarship recipients will continue to have their award renewed. Beginning in fiscal year 2036, the donors wish to apply any unused funds to the general UNH financial aid pool for the benefit of New Hampshire students who have demonstrated financial need. SELECTION: Financial Aid in consultation with Berlin High School (or successor). Each year, up to 11 incoming freshmen may be selected by the UNH Financial Aid office in consultation with Berlin High School, or its successor school which shall recommend students to UNH by March 1st of the prior academic year to receive a need and merit-based scholarship between $7,250 and $11,000 from the Rydin Fund. As long as the student recipients remain in good academic standing, all scholarship awards will be renewed for up to three subsequent years. The donors understand that depending on the number of qualified students and funds available to award, the number of recipients and dollar amounts of the awards may vary.
