Joseph A. '81 & Susan Garofoli Scholarship Fund

PURPOSE: Renewable need-based scholarship support to freshmen students from NH. CRITERIA: Incoming freshmen must have a GPA of 2.75 or greater and 3.0 after freshman year. Donor intent is to award for all four years. ADMIN: The Donors’ gift is intended to make the difference between a student accepting an offer to attend UNH or giving up their hopes and dreams for college because financial challenges stand in the way. To that end, the Donors’ gift shall be used to provide additional aid, supplementing the assistance a student is already recieving from the University. The number of awards shall be initially limited to one per year to maximize the size of the awards to a student at approximately $2,000 for freshman year and $4,000 for sophomore year and $5,000 for both junior and senior years, subject to the criteria above and the student continuing to demonstrate a high financial need. As the fund grows, the size and number of awards may be adjusted as long as they remain consistent with the Donors’ intent. SELECTION: Director of Financial Aid
