Arnold & Della Hanson Scholarship

PURPOSE: Renewable need and merit-based scholarship support to incoming freshmen from Coos County, NH, CRITERIA: Financial need, academic achievement and leadership potential. Scholarship is renewable for an additional three years as long as the student maintains a 3.0 GPA at end of sophomore year and meets the standards of citizenship and character expected of all members of the University community. ADMIN: After fifty years (2052), in the event that there are an insufficient number of students from Coos County who qualify for the scholarship in any given year, awards may be made to students from other New Hampshire counties. During the first fifty years of the scholarship, if there are an insufficient number of qualified students to fully utilize the income from the fund in any given year the income shall be allowed to accumulate and to be used in subsequent years when there are a larger number of qualified students. SELECTION: The Admissions office, in consultation with Financial Aid, is responsible for the selection of scholarship recipients and administering all awards from the fund.
